The driver of a pickup truck narrowly avoided a serious crash when a drunk driver blew through a stop sign on Highway 67 in Yellow Medicine County on Sept. 10. The Minnesota State Patrol released the video this week to remind drivers that extra DWI enforcement is in effect statewide.

1 dead in Manhattan subway shooting

One man is dead and two others are injured in a shooting at a subway station in Midtown Manhattan. A 43-year-old man was shot once in the neck and was pronounced dead at the bottom of the stairs in the station at 35th St. and 8th Ave., reports the Associated Press.

Surge parking rates coming to parts of DC

Drivers in one of the busiest parts of D.C. may be stunned when they see the changes coming to some parking meter rates. The D.C. Department of Transportation is looking to implement what is known as “surge pricing” for parking meters in Chinatown and Penn Quarter—and it won’t be long before the new rates become a reality.
