Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said her office is “closing monitoring the situation" after an active shooter was reported at Temple Israel, a Jewish synagogue in West Bloomfield.

A Jewish synagogue was attacked after a vehicle drove through the front entrance of Temple Israel in West Bloomfield on Thursday. One individual was confirmed dead inside the vehicle, which barged through the front entrance. The Oakland County Sheriff said a security guard shot the man.

Two people were injured and a suspect is dead after a shooting inside Constant Hall at Old Dominion University on Thursday, officials said. The gunfire was reported shortly before 10:49 a.m. University police, Norfolk Police and emergency crews responded, and the two injured victims were taken to a local hospital. Authorities have not released their conditions.
