Maintenance Engineer (Regular, Full-Time)

FOX 5 WTTG and FOX 5 Plus WDCA, the #1 local television news operation in Washington, DC is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Full-time). We will be moving into a brand new, ST 2110 IP facility in Spring 2021. The technology will be cutting edge and we are looking for people who are excited by new technology.  Your duties will include maintaining and troubleshooting digital and IP broadcast electronic equipment, including routers, encoders, switchers, cameras, media servers, graphics systems, audio consoles, ENG vehicles and other equipment. Transmitter experience is a plus (we are also moving our transmitter).  The successful candidate must be a problem solver who can handle corrective and preventative maintenance.  Must be able to lift and carry forty-five (45) pounds, up and down stairs, and rough terrain, to complete essential job functions. Minimum of 3 years experience in broadcast maintenance required. Must have a clean motor vehicle record (MVR) and be willing to obtain a valid driver’s license. Newscast Director (Regular, Full-Time)

WTTG Fox 5 TV – Washington DC's #1 News Station with the most hours of local news - is looking for an experienced and creative Newscast Director to join the production team. Fox 5 produces over 12 hours of live local news content daily. The ideal candidate will have experience directing newscasts using a production automation system, such as Sony ELC. Proven ability to lead control room team creatively delivering fast-paced news shows required. Ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of innovative production concepts that engage viewers. Additional duties may include directing weekly political and sports shows, promotions, satellite interviews, or pre-produced segments. Ideal candidate should be comfortable directing in both automated and non-automated environments. Qualifications: HS Diploma (or equivalent) required. College degree preferred.  Minimum 5 years recent experience directing news related content in a major to medium size market. Traffic Coordinator (Regular, Full-Time)

Fox 5 TV, Washington DC’s #1 news station and most hours of local news, is looking for a Traffic Coordinator to join our team. This position works independently performing a wide range of complex administrative and clerical duties to support programs, events, forums, and the business unit. The Traffic Coordinator must be able to communicate and interact with various station personnel while providing services to a wide range of internal and external contacts. The coordinator must be able to anticipate and resolve problems and effectively communicate updates to management. This individual will coordinate specific tasks related to various functions or programs for the department/business unit. The traffic coordinator must have proficiency in organizing and maintaining administrative systems and procedures for the department while performing necessary support duties. The traffic coordinator serves as the source of information on established department projects or functions. Must be able to draft, edit and prepare accurate correspondence, reports and other material using Microsoft Office products and various company databases and systems. Responsible for facilitating the smooth day-to-day flow of communications within the department. May act as a liaison on related projects with other departments or outside vendors/clients. Requires strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
