Broadcast Stagehand (Per Diem Part-Time)

Fox 5 TV, Washington DC's #1 news station with the most hours of local news, is looking for a Freelance Stagehand to assist with behind-the-scenes projects for the news broadcast studios. The stagehand will be responsible for handling property and scenery used for live television. This includes the maintenance, repair, placement and operation of studio scenes, structures, and lighting. Must be competent in the use of hand tools and power tools. Will work in a fast-paced environment. May have to travel between locations and may be required to deliver and pickup materials offsite as needed. HS Diploma (or equivalent) required. 2-4 year college/technical degree preferred. Minimum 3 years recent experience. Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid driver’s license, be able to drive, maintain a clean MVR and insurance. Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. This position will require the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to go up and down stairs, climb ladders, bend/stoop, squat/crouch, kneel and twist. News Producer (Per Diem Part-Time)

WTTG/WDCA Fox TV in the Washington DC television market is seeking a creative Producer with strong writing skills, superior news judgment and never short on ideas! Will select stories, assemble them in a rundown, create graphics, write copy and teases, time the show from the control room, and coordinate Reporter assignments. Ideal candidate works well with others, is active in brainstorming sessions and is always current on what is trending in social media. Strong communication skills a must. Must be aware on current events and able to work in fast-paced environment under specific time constraints. Ideal candidate thinks ‘out of the box’ and is always looking to find new ways to present information. Must be self-motivated and effectively work independently and on a team. Looking for a Producer with strong leadership skills. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications required.
