Maintenance Engineer (Regular, Full-Time)

F OX 5 WTTG and FOX 5 Plus WDCA, the #1 local television news operation in Washington, DC is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Full-time). We will be moving into a brand new, ST 2110 IP facility in Spring 2021. The technology will be cutting edge and we are looking for people who are excited by new technology.  Your duties will include maintaining and troubleshooting digital and IP broadcast electronic equipment, including routers, encoders, switchers, cameras, media servers, graphics systems, audio consoles, ENG vehicles and other equipment. Transmitter experience is a plus (we are also moving our transmitter).  The successful candidate must be a problem solver who can handle corrective and preventative maintenance.  Must be able to lift and carry forty-five (45) pounds, up and down stairs, and rough terrain, to complete essential job functions. This position requires exceptional writing and organization skills. Candidates must be comfortable collecting and verifying information on current events, reviewing video, and assembling content for newscasts. The news writer is responsible for creating content, selecting stories, assembling stories in a line-up, ordering and reviewing graphics, copy editing, and coordinating with reporters in the field. WTTG FOX 5 News – Washington DC's #1 News Station with the most hours of local news - is looking for an experienced Freelance Studio Technician/Master Control Operator to provide production support for our top-rated newscasts and network programming.  The ideal candidate should be comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced, live production environment.  The Freelance Studio Technician/Master Control Operator operates any or all of the following: production switchers, robotic cameras, character generators, playout servers, audio consoles, master control switchers, non-linear editing software, and other production support equipment.  The Freelance Studio Technician/Master Control Operator performs various functions including, but not limited to: technical director, audio operator, robotic camera, floor director, and/or master control.  Proven ability to operate in live broadcast environments, specifically news production, is required.  Experience with automated control room and master control environments is a plus. Ideal candidate will be able to take direction, think critically under pressure, and work professionally as part of a cohesive team within specific time constraints.

Qualifications: HS Diploma (or equivalent) required.
