DC region could see showers, thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening

Showers are likely on Monday, with a chance of thunderstorms after 2 p.m. The day will be partly sunny with a high near 83 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 70%.

Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for parts of DMV through Sunday night

There’s a chance for severe weather today. The main threat will be gusty wins small hail and isolated flooding. A severe thunderstorm watches in effect until 10 PM this evening. Thunderstorms may be capable of producing rainfall amounts between one to 2 inches an hour. There’s also a flood watch in effect until 10pm Sunday.
