A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday for Washington, D.C., and portions of Maryland, and northern Virginia as a blast of?arctic air?settles into the region. Bitter cold wind chills between zero and 10 degrees below are expected. FOX 5?s Taylor Grenda says there is a chance of flurries on Tuesday and a slight chance of snow showers before midnight.

It will be a sure sign that winter is still here today as a low pressure system to our south taps into moisture and brings us a day of moderate to heavy snow. Rain and a wintry mix will be the onset of the precipitation in the District and some areas South and Southwest of D.C. before it changes to snow, while North and Northwest counties will see it start as snow where colder air is already entrenched in place.
