Veterans Day Monday is going to get this week off to a good start. Some sunshine mixing with clouds, but a steady southwest wind will bring temperatures into the 60s later on this afternoon. Unfortunately, that’s about as good as it gets for the next week.

A salute to all Veterans today as we honor them for their service on Monday and the weather will be perfect! There will be many parades and outdoor activities Monday in neighborhoods across the D.C. region and the weather will be just right!

The DC region saw some of its first snow flurries of the season as a cold front makes its way to the East Coast on Friday.

Brace yourself for a shock to the system as you head out the door this morning.

There’s been a lot of chatter on social media about the possibility of the DC region seeing its first snowflakes fall from the sky next week, but the FOX 5 Weather Team is cautioning to limit your expectations.

Good news: we squeeze out one more day with comfortable afternoon temperatures near or just above 60 today.  Bad news: this is the last day near 60 for awhile as much colder air arrives in two waves beginning on Friday. 

For the second winter in a row, we are calling for slightly above-normal snowfall in the Washington, DC region.

We are halfway through our first full work week of November and today will feature plenty of sunshine with cool temperatures. FOX 5's Sue Palka says a chill greets you early on this bright morning as temperatures at dawn range from 36 to 43 degrees.
