An unidentified skier reportedly fell roughly 1,000 feet and sustained a leg injury near Stevens Pass in Washington.

Saturday will bring a break from the Arctic air that has entrenched the D.C. area.

If you are traveling up on Saturday afternoon or evening, expect partly cloudy skies with just a few passing clouds. Temperatures should be in the 30s for just about all of your journey, but nothing falling from the sky should slow you down! About as good as travel weather can get in late January.

Some parts of the Washington, D.C. area woke up to single digit temperatures on Thursday as frigid conditions continue to grip the region canceling and delaying some schools in the region.

Metro New Orleans has received more snowfall since the start of meteorological winter than many cold-weather cities across the country, including Philadelphia, New York and Anchorage, Alaska.

The heaviest snowfall in the Sunshine State occurred around Pensacola, where spotters reported measuring amounts of 5-12 inches through Tuesday evening.

A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. Wednesday for Washington, D.C., and portions of Maryland, and northern Virginia.
