October is domestic abuse awareness month and in the midst of a pandemic many victims quarantined with their abusers are experiencing abuse at higher levels.

Anxiety and uncertainty are still high as the coronavirus pandemic continues. Sadly, so does food insecurity for families having a hard time making ends meet.

School districts all across the DMV welcomed back students over the past two weeks.  And while the school day may look completely different the need for some families to just make ends meet hasn’t changed.  

D.C. school teacher Carmen Gardner has always understood the dangers of growing up in the inner city.

It's been hard for so many people during the coronavirus pandemic, and with unemployment through the roof, lots of people are having to pivot and find a new path to job success.
