ARLINGTON, Va. - Arlington County police are investigating the seventh in a series of attacks on women in the past month.
The latest incident happened around 9:35 p.m. Monday when a man approached a 31-year-old woman in the 2000 block of S. Columbia Pike and asked her for directions. As she looked down at her phone, the man touched her inappropriately and kissed her on the cheek. The suspect then ran away, police said.
The suspect's description does not match the descriptions in the previous assaults. Police said Monday they are not ready to connect the six prior incidents, but they are continuing to investigate. No arrests have been made in any of the cases.
Meanwhile, officers are stepping up patrols in Arlington as a result of the assaults.
