Scooter parking spots spray-painted on ground near NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro station in DC
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Scooter use in the D.C. region has increased over the recent years. But with the increase in traffic also comes the issue of where riders should park the vehicles once they get to where they need to go.
FOX 5's Bob Barnard was outside of the NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro station in Northeast, D.C. along the Metropolitan Branch Trail, where someone took the matter of scooter parking into their own hands.
Spray-painted in bright colors on the ground along the railing along the trail were several rectangular boxes with scooter parking written inside. We even spotted a scooter user taking advantage of the newly painted parking spots.
The spots were not created by the city or by Metro. It is unclear if there are any plans to create scooter parking spots in the future.
