Nearly 20 cases of theft from cars, car theft being investigated in Fairfax area

FAIRFAX, Va. - There have been almost 20 cases of theft from cars around Fairfax since Friday night, according to police.

Investigators say they are trying to identify three suspects related to the thefts, which include several thefts from cars and a black 2017 Ford Fusion with Virginia plates VUL-6720, which was stolen from Stanhope Place. Detectives say the car has several stickers on the back, and a cracked windshield on the driver's side.

West Springfield Police say they have received over a dozen different calls about the incidents. They say in two cases, the suspects were reported to have entered homes to get more car keys.

Investigators are reminding the public to keep all vehicles locked when parked and keep all valuables out of sight and keep their garage door openers inside their homes instead of in the car.
