Damascus HS JV football coach, athletic director on leave as part of locker room rape investigation

The junior varsity football coach and the athletic director at Damascus High School have been placed on administrative leave as part of the investigation into an alleged locker room attack against members of the team by their own teammates.

Officials say Vincent Colbert was placed on leave on April 17 of this year. Athletic Director Joe Doody is now on leave as well.

On Tuesday, Principal Casey Crouse announced she had resigned from her position.

The four teens face charges in the alleged Halloween locker room attack against their own teammates on the football team. Arrest documents detailing the incident that led to the arrests reveal gruesome allegations of beatings and violent sexual assaults.

An online petition online calling on the Damascus community to support Colbert and demand he be reinstated as coach.it has over 1300 signatures.
