Damascus High School principal resigns amid locker room rape investigation

Damascus High School principal Casey Crouse announced Tuesday that she has resigned from her role as principal and will transition to another position within the Montgomery County school district.

Crouse sent a letter to the Damascus High School community saying, in part, "I am transitioning out of my role as principal to another position in MCPS."

In the letter, Crouse references the investigation into an alleged locker room attack and says "it has become clear that in order for DHS to move forward, it will require new leadership."

Kevin Yates, a current principal intern at Julius West Middle School, will serve as acting principal beginning on May 13, according to Crouse's letter. He will remain in the position until the end of the school year.
