Arrest made in fatal intentional hit-and-run, DC police say

DC Police say an arrest has been made in an intentional hit-and-run that left a 35-year-old man dead in early February.

Officials say at around 1:45 a.m. on Feb. 5, a man and 35-year-old Daniel Olaya, of Bowie, got into a verbal altercation in the 1900 block of 4th Street, Northwest.

After the altercation, police say the man intentionally struck Olaya with his vehicle before fleeing the scene. Olaya was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and died a day later on Feb. 6.

On Tuesday, police announced they arrested 36-year-old Morris Kenya Harley in connection to Olaya's murder.

Harley has been charged with first-degree murder while armed.
