DC police say they have located car in fatal intentional hit-and-run

DC police say they are now investigating a homicide and are looking for a suspected driver after a fatal hit-and-run incident Tuesday morning in Northwest.

Officials say at around 1:45 a.m. the suspect and another man got into a verbal altercation at the 1900 block of 4th Street, Northwest. They say the suspect intentionally struck the victim, now identified as 35-year-old Daniel Olaya from Bowie.

The suspect then fled the scene. Police say Olaya sustained life-treating injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He died from his injuries on Wednesday, they say.

Officials describe the vehicle involved as a dark SUV that was last seen driving northbound on 4th Street.

Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
