All clear given after suspicious package on U.S. Capitol ground cases delays
WASHINGTON - An all clear has been given at the U.S. Capitol complex after a suspicious package caused a delay in opening Wednesday. The package was found against a tree on the U.S. Capitol grounds around 8:30 a.m.
Police temporarily closed off streets in the area.
That incident came one day after police said officers shot and wounded a man who pulled a weapon at a security checkpoint as he entered the underground Capitol Visitor Center.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
