2 hospitalized after truck hit by gunfire on Intercounty Connector
Two people were hospitalized after a truck traveling eastbound on the Intercounty Connector was struck by two bullets.
It happened just before 3 p.m. Tuesday in Laurel near the exit that connects the ICC to I-95.
Police are trying to figure out where the gunfire came from and initially believed it may have come from a wooded area along the ICC. But investigators appear to be now focused on an overpass at Old Gunpowder Road.
The two men inside the truck were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities say two gunshots struck the front windshield with the glass injuring one of the men. A gunshot appears to have grazed the second man's clothing.
The FBI and police are also investigating a report of a shooting that may be possibly connected to damage found at a National Security Agency building located about 12 miles away from the ICC shooting. It is unknown if these two shootings are related.
