109-year-old Virginia McLaurin, Globetrotters celebrate the holidays at DC school
WASHINGTON - D.C.'s famous centenarian Virginia McLaurin and the Harlem Globetrotters got together today at Roots Public Charter School to celebrate the holidays.
McLaurin, 109, famously danced with the Obamas at the White House. She called it one of the greatest moments of her life.
She has also celebrated several birthdays with the Globetrotters.
Today, she was joined by Zeus and Bulldog, who talked to the students about their anti-bullying campaign, called T.E.A.M. Up.
The Globetrotters are donating 109 tickets to the students to celebrate each year of McLaurin's life.
The legendary basketball team will play at the Capital One Arena in D.C. on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 2 p.m. and then two more games at EagleBank Arena on Friday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
