D.C.’s national parks face a $2 billion repair backlog
Pew Charitable Trusts’ Rebecca Knuffke says years of underfunding and aging infrastructure have left D.C.’s monuments and federal parkland with roughly $2 billion in overdue repairs. A bipartisan bill would renew the Great American Outdoors Act’s restoration fund for five years at $1.9 billion annually, using mineral revenues rather than taxpayer dollars.
