D.C. Public Schools is mourning the loss of a beloved teacher. Mrs. Helen White reportedly passed away over the weekend as a result of COVID-19. 

DC Public Schools may move forward with in-person instruction soon

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has said, and a D.C. Public Schools spokesperson confirmed, DCPS is moving toward resuming some type of in-person instruction by November 9, the start of Term 2 for students. Schools are allowed to include in-person instruction under the District’s guidance for Phase 2 COVID-19 reopening.

Lawsuit: Special needs students were physically abused at DCPS schools

A lawsuit filed in July alleges staff members at two separate schools physically abused four D.C. Public Schools students during the 2019 school year.
