You might have received Facebook messages that you know nothing about

You might have a few missed messages to check on in your Facebook account.

It turns out your "Messages" inbox has a tab you might not have know about.

The "Message Requests" option lets you see messages sent from people you aren't friends with but who have tried to get in touch with you.

Because you aren't friends with them, those messages can sometimes be missed.

Here is how you can check for these hidden messages:

- In the "Facebook Messenger" app, click on "Settings"
- Next tap "People"
- Next tap "Message Requests"
- If you have filtered messages, you will see a "See Filtered Requests" link
