Target cash registers out nationwide, angering shoppers

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Target is reporting outages at checkout counters across the chain, affecting shoppers nationwide.

The superstore chain acknowledged the outages in a tweet Saturday afternoon, while saying it's working to fix the problem:

It's unclear how many stores are affected, but angry shoppers nationwide took to Twitter to call out the chain.

One location at RIO Lakefront in Gaithersburg indicated that their registers stopped functioning shortly before 2 p.m.

Another location in Northwest D.C. said they were seeing similar problems.

A mini-store in Bethesda said they were not experiencing any issues.
