Surveillance video shows alleged pickpockets in elevator

D.C. police are releasing a new video that shows just how quickly alleged pickpockets work.

The video, from last Wednesday, shows surveillance images from inside an elevator in a building in the 2100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.

One person in the apparent pickpocket team stalls a man who was leaving the elevator by blocking the door after pretending to drop something.

The second man allegedly steals the man's wallet after he stops to help.

At this time, officers have not identified the suspects.
