The Oconee County sheriff met with the family of the University of Georgia student who survived a tragic car wreck that left four of her friends dead.

Agnes Kim, 21, of Snellville, has been in a coma since the accident last Wednesday near Athens. Monday night, Sheriff Scott Berry visited Kim's family at Athens Regional Medical Center. He said she's surrounded by family and friends.

"I continue to pray for her recovery and those who love her as I am sure you do as well," Sheriff Berry said. "The Kim family did not express that they had any immediate needs that we as a community could address but I will be keeping in touch with them and should something arise I will share it with you."

Kim was driving a Toyota Camry, with four of her friends inside, when they crashed along Greensboro Highway. They were headed northbound when the car, for unknown reasons, went into the southbound lanes and struck a blue Chevrolet Cobalt.

The wreck claimed the lives of Kayla Canedo, Brittany Feldman, Christina Semeria and Halle Scott.

The driver of the other car involved, Abby Short, 27, of Demorest, was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was later released.

Short works as an EMT with National EMS. According to Sheriff Berry, she's recovering at home with family and receiving a lot of support from her loved ones and co-workers.

"Please join us in praying for her full and speedy recovery," Berry said.

Georgia State Patrol investigators returned to the accident scene on Monday and reconstructed the crash.

Investigators said they have ruled out alcohol and drugs in the accident. Authorities also said data from the vehicles do not show any evidence that either car was speeding.

Last week, investigators said one of the five students was ejected from the car. Three of the victims died at the scene and two others, including Kim, were rushed to the hospital where one of the students later passed away.

Morehead urged all members of the university community to support each other during this difficult time.

"The loss of any student is very difficult," Morehead said. "A tragedy of this magnitude is truly devastating."

The students involved in the wreck were actively involved in UGA's campus community, according to Morehead. Kayla and Christina were members of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority at UGA, Brittany was a Pi Beta Phi and Halle was part of the Delta Delta Delta organization.

All of the women killed in the wreck were from metro Atlanta. Scott's funeral took place on Sunday, Semeria's funeral is scheduled for Monday and the funerals for Canedo and Feldman will be held on Tuesday.
