Rats terrorize residents of northwest Pakistani city

Huge rats are terrorizing residents of the Pakistani city of Peshawar.

The northwest city, which is on the front line in Taliban territory, now has a rodent population that has been blamed for eating chickens, biting residents, and even killing a baby.

According to an online report by the DailyMail, a local rat hunter says the rodents attack at night and have contaminated food.

The rat hunter says the pests have become immune to local poisons and need to be controlled with a homemade mixture.

Dead rats are gathered by residents and buried by the rat hunter after they are contained in plastic bags.
