Mostly cloudy Tuesday with the threat of stronger storms looming later in the day
WASHINGTON - We’re in for a cloudy day in the D.C. area on Tuesday, with scattered showers arriving around lunchtime and the threat of stronger storms arriving late in the afternoon and evening.
The severity of the storms will be contingent on the chance of a break for sunshine.
The cloudier it stays, the less likely it will be that we see severe storms.
Right now, it appears that the greatest risks will be down through the central and eastern Virginia and southern Maryland areas, but we will be closely monitoring through the afternoon.
Storms could linger in the evening, but it won’t be a washout.
