Cooking with Anthony Maggert, the Good Samaritan who helped Gen. Colin Powell change a flat tire
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A simple act of kindness brought Anthony Maggert to the shoulder of the Capital Beltway last week where he pulled over to help a motorist with a flat tire. The driver he stopped to help turned out to be none other than retired four-star General Colin Powell.

Both men were on their way to appointments at Walter Reed Military Hospital when Powell's tire blew and Maggert stopped to help. Their encounter went viral after Powell posted to Facebook.
"Thanks, Anthony. You touched my soul and reminded me about what this country is all about and why it is so great. Let's stop screaming at each other. Let's just take care of each other. You made my day," Powell's post said.

It turns out Anthony Maggert isn't just handy with a tire-iron -- he also knows his way around the kitchen! Maggert, who goes by Tony, just graduated from culinary arts school and stopped to talk about his once in a lifetime encounter with General Powell and too cook up a tasty dish for Steve and Allison!
"Go out there and spread the love. Help somebody. Extend a hand!' Maggert said.
