Charles County student charged in alleged knife-point robbery inside a school

A student has been arrested after he allegedly approached a victim inside North Point High School from behind, pulled out a knife, and demanded money.

The Charles County Sheriff's Office charged Lovelle Caleb Cannaday, 17, of Waldorf with armed robbery, attempted robbery, and other crimes.

According to the sheriff's office, Cannaday approached the victim during lunchtime, and demanded the victim's belt and wallet.

When a school administrator walked into the hallway, Cannaday reportedly walked away.

Investigators say no one reported the incident at the time.

The sheriff's office was contacted after school dismissed.
