Are the stars aligning for the Nationals? One NASA scientist thinks so.
GREENBELT, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - As the Washington Nationals return home 2-0 superstars in the World Series against the Houston Astros, it sure feels like the stars are aligning for the team — and one NASA scientist agrees.
Dr. Noah Petro is the lunar recognizance orbiter project scientist at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt. He's also a huge Nats fan.

"I've been a Nats fan since the day they started in 2005. I was at their first game ever and I've been following them ever since," said Petro.
Petro explained to FOX 5's Tisha Lewis how science may be on the Nats' side.
"The moon is aligned with the Nationals. 2019 is the year of the moon and to have the Houston Astros playing the Washington Nationals for the World Series as we celebrate the moon this year is a wonderful thing," said Petro.
In fact, science was celebrated in a commercial during Game 2 featuring astronaut Buzz Aldren, one of the first to land on the moon.
Of course, Petro was up late Wednesday with the rest of us watching.
"This year, 2019 — to have these two teams playing as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon and, of course, Johnson Space Center preparing for the future of human exploration and Goddard is supporting that. I'm really looking forward to many more World Series in our future and in four years not only celebrating other Nats' victories but also the return of humans on the lunar surface and the first woman and next man to walk on the moon," said Petro.
