Track DC area snow plows online

Roads crews around the DMV are working non-stop to keep the highways and side-streets clear of snow - and you can track their progress online.

In the District, you can find what streets have been plowed, salted, or both on the city's Snow Response Reporting System: http://snowmap.dc.gov/snowavl.aspx

Treated and untreated streets are marked on a map. You can then then access nearby traffic cameras to see the streets for yourself.

You can track the progress in Virginia the same way. Users can access http://vdotplows.org/ and see where the plows have been and view traffic cameras.

Prince George's County officials are providing a map of treated roadways: http://snowtracking.princegeorgescountymd.gov/snowplow/

Montgomery County has a similar map of area roads: http://www7.montgomerycountymd.gov/snowmap/

Maryland drivers can also take a look at road conditions by accessing traffic cameras throughout the state: http://www.chart.state.md.us/map/
