Tornado confirmed in Virginia near Berryville
BERRYVILLE, Va. - The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Clarke County near Berryville in Virginia.
After conducting a storm survey in the area and radar analysis, the National Weather Service says the EF-0 tornado had estimated winds of 65 miles per hour and traveled about 0.4 miles between 5:59 p.m. to 6:01 p.m.
The twister uprooted several trees and brought down numerous branches in the area of Trapp Hill Road and Harry Byrd Highway (Route 7), according to the National Weather Service.
"The magnitude and chaotic nature of tree damage in this localized area is consistent with tornadic damage at the EF-0 scale, with estimated winds 65 mph," said the National Weather Service in their public information statement.
There were no reported injuries from this tornado.
