Chance of snow Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning could impact commute
WASHINGTON - A cold winter week is in store across the Washington, D.C. region bringing with it the possibility of snow.
A clipper system that will move into the region on Tuesday evening could provide some snow accumulation and impact the Wednesday morning commute. Temperatures will be in the mid-to-upper 30s during the day on Tuesday, but will drop below freezing in the evening, so any precipitation that the system brings with it could stick to the ground.
The storm could bring a trace amount to two inches of snowfall in the D.C. metro area and areas south.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday morning for areas north and west of Washington D.C. The areas affected by the advisory could see 2 to 4 inches of snow.
Once we get past the mid-week snow threat, a winter warmup with dry skies and temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50s should make for a pleasant weekend.
