Hurricane Fiona could pass very close to Bermuda late Thursday or early Friday, potentially as a powerful Category 4 hurricane.

Hurricane Fiona has dumped tremendous amounts of rain on Puerto Rico, leaving parts of the island underwater. 

Hurricane Fiona was a Category 1 hurricane for its first landfall in southwestern Puerto Rico on Sunday and another landfall in the eastern Dominican Republic early Monday morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey said it initially registered the strong earthquake about 25 miles southeast of La Placita de Morelos, Mexico.

Although the storms are five years apart, they mirror one another in some respects, while differing in others.

Fiona struck on the anniversary of Hurricane Hugo, which hit Puerto Rico 33 years ago as a Category 3 storm.

Some islands in the Caribbean may see may than a foot of rain as Fiona slowly moves towards the southwestern Atlantic.
