DMV faces severe weather risk Monday

Residents in the DMV could see some intense weather today as the area is facing its first "red zone" risk of severe weather since April 19, 2019. You can expect widespread damaging, destructive winds and perhaps an isolated tornado or two.

A regional episode of severe thunderstorms will affect the DMV Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has drawn a level 3 out of 5 "enhanced" risk of severe weather around the Mid-Atlantic and noted that an isolated tornado is possible.
