During each FOX 5 Zip Trip we like to take moment to thank someone making a difference in their community. This week, for our Hometown Hero in Leesburg, we?re recognizing Rachel Roberts, the ambassador of Loudoun Hunger Relief.

In the battle against drug addiction, Thurmont, Maryland resident Ed Schlit honors the memory of his son Christopher by educating his community about addiction through education, prevention, and outreach.

She's lovingly known as The Real MVP ?, and believe us when we say she lives up to that name. Wanda Durant is mom to NBA star Kevin Durant and his older brother Tony Durant, a businessman. She's proud to be their mom and shares her passion by traveling the country to share her life experiences with single moms and women of all ages. And all of that makes her our Hometown Hero! We caught up with her at our Zip Trip to National Harbor.

This week's Buffalo Wild Wings Hometown Team is the Ballou Senior High School female flag football team and coach Andrew l. Gaston Jr.

The Poolesville High School varsity baseball team are our our Hometown Team on this Zip Trip-- but they also happen to be the Maryland state champs! Watch our segment with them here.

Paul and Chrissie Harney brought Relay for Life to Poolesville over 10 years ago, after both of Chrissie's parents died of cancer. In 10 years, they helped to raise over $1 million, and they continue to volunteer all over town to help worthy causes... making them very deserving of this week's Hometown Hero award. Jennifer and Joel Griffin established the Gwyneth?s Gift Foundation in honor of their oldest daughter, who died after collapsing on the track at school.
