SPONSORED: Mission Moments: Marcus Ware discusses his battle against cancer and what drives him to help others

FOX 5 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Mission Moments brought to you by WAWA

“When we walk, cancer runs” is the motivating theme for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walks. Supporters and survivors are walking again this year to raise money and awareness to fight blood cancers. LLS is the largest non-profit funder of cutting-edge research to advance cures.

To help people understand the importance of the LLS mission FOX 5, WaWa, and the WaWa Foundation are sharing this Mission Moments podcast. With interviews from cancer survivors, their families, people who are in the fight and information on research, we are hoping you will learn more about blood cancers and how those are working towards cures for everyone.

Several years ago Assistant Director of Undergraduate Advising at George Washington University Marcus Ware led a group of students to fundraise for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a class project. Ten years later, Ware was diagnosed with cancer. Determined not to be paralyzed with fear, he turned his battle into victory and shared his journey with others to inspire them to get involved. Now, in remission, he continues others to get involved.
