Woman paints DC flag on her Capitol Hill roof
WASHINGTON - A woman from the District is taking her "D.C. pride" to the next level after she had the D.C. flag painted on the roof of her home on Capitol Hill.
Claudia Rauch said she originally brought the idea up as a joke to her husband when they learned their roof would need to be recoated.
But Rauch decided to go ahead and ask Maggio Roofing to paint the flag on the roof of their home while they were recoating it last week.
The famous flag, which touts a simple look of three red stars above two red bars on a white background, now proudly displays on the roof in the 700 block of 4th Street, SE.
Rauch told FOX 5 she'd love to get a picture of the roof from a helicopter, but we reminded her that would be difficult due to the District's strict no-fly zone.
