Maryland mom says she warned daughter about boyfriend, now accused in her murder: 'I don’t trust him’
The mother of a D.C. woman whose body was found in what authorities describe as a makeshift tomb says she saw signs her daughter’s boyfriend was responsible for her murder.
Tiwana Schuler, the mother of 29-year-old Alexis Schuler, last saw her daughter on Jan. 10. Schuler said she was at her daughter’s home that day to help her move and watch her three children. Her daughter eventually left the home with 30-year-old Devontae Gray, who she shares a child with.

Search underway for man accused of breaking in, brutally assaulting woman in Manassas apartment
Police in northern Virginia are looking for a man who was accused of breaking into a woman's home before violently beating her to the point where she lost consciousness.
The woman is physically expected to be alright after the harrowing attack, which took place around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20 in the 8000 block of Juliet Lane. Prince William County Police say the assault happened on the bottom floor of The Point at Manassas apartment complex.

Woman and 1-year-old child found dead in Northwest DC apartment: police
Police continue to search for answers after a woman and child were found dead in an apartment in the 5400 block of Connecticut Avenue of Northwest, D.C.
The victims have been identified as 38-year-old Ebony Washington and 1-year-old Kemy Washington of Northwest, D.C. The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.

Virginia sex offender caught exposing themselves at schools and gyms: police
A registered sex offender is facing a string of charges following multiple incidents at sports facilities and schools in Arlington County, according to police.
Richard K. Cox, 58, who identifies as a woman, according to court documents, has no fixed address. Cox was arrested on December 6, 2024, at the Barcroft Sports & Fitness Center after police responded to a trespassing report.
Officers found out that Cox had entered the women’s locker room, and during their investigation, Cox provided false identification. Authorities later confirmed Cox’s status as a registered sex offender.

2 teens accused of stabbing student in school bathroom apprehended on Fort Meade: police
Two teens accused of stabbing a student in the bathroom of an Anne Arundel County high school were taken into custody at their residence on base at Fort Meade, authorities say. The 17-year-old victim was stabbed multiple times at Meade High School just after 10 a.m. Thursday. The victim was a student and was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers apprehended 18-year-old JaQuan Ky’lee Guy and a 14-year-old boy at their home on base Thursday night. Both are facing multiple charges including attempted first and second degree murder, and first and second degree assault. The 14-year-old is also facing conspiracy to commit murder. Both also face school-related charges.
