WATCH: Video shows Secret Service swarm as man climbs over White House fence
WASHINGTON - Secret Service took a man into custody outside of the White House Monday afternoon after he scaled an outer fence on the South Grounds.
Video taken by witness David Stanley shows the whole incident, which took place around 4:20 p.m. on Feb. 3. According to his post on X, Stanley says the man walked by him, said "f*** it" and began climbing the fence.

Secret Service arrested a man who climbed over an outer fence on the South Grounds of the White House. The identity of the suspect has not been released at this time and it's not clear if he is facing any charges. Video credit: David Stanley
Secret Service officers immediately responded to the scene where the individual was climbing and Stanley says rooftop snipers were "scurrying around" and K9s were racing on the lawn.
The individual was subsequently taken into custody by our officers. No identifying information has been released at this time and Secret Service has not said why the man began climbing the fence.
The 18-acre White House complex is secured by uniformed officers, special agents, mission support personnel and advanced protective systems.
Secret Service says per protocol, this incident — including security measures and response — will undergo a protective operations review by the agency.
It's not yet clear if the suspect will face any charges.
