Two students die in Houston school bus crash

An HISD school bus heading to Furr High school has been involved in a crash causing the school bus to roll over. Four students and an HISD bus driver have been transported to the hospital.

September 15, 2015 - One student was killed and three others were seriously injured this morning when an HISD school bus crashed at the 610 Loop and Telephone Road.

The bus was bound for Furr High School and was carrying four students, including a female who did not survive the crash, which occurred around 7 a.m. Three other students and the driver have been taken to multiple hospitals. Preliminary indications are that all of those who survived the crash suffered injuries. Further information about their conditions is not available at this time.

Furr High School is also home to REACH Charter High School and it is unclear at this time whether the students attend Furr or REACH.

The accident is under investigation by Houston ISD Police and Houston PD.


"We are deeply saddened by this tragedy and the loss of one of our students," said HISD Superintendent Terry Grier. "I ask all of the HISD community to join me in praying for all of those involved."
