A new study suggest that boys get better grades when their classes have a higher percentage of girls in them. The study published in School Effectiveness and School Improvement was released last week.
Academic behaviors commonly displayed by girls in the classroom, such as strong levels of concentration and motivation, may positively influence boys, the author of the study speculated.
The author did caution that they don't exactly know why girls appear to have such a positive influence on boys in the classroom-- and that more research is needed.
