Run for Wendy remembers slain D.C. jogger

Family, friends and complete strangers came out Saturday morning in memory of Wendy Martinez.

Martinez was killed a year ago while jogging.  23 year old Anthony Crawford plead guilty to murder and was sentenced to at least 30 years in prison as part of a plea deal.

“Team Wendy” invited the community participate in Pacers Running for the Clarendon Day in Arlington.

Team Wendy members donated $100 that will organizers say will go toward programs to help empower women, a mission close to Martinez’s heart.
