Officers help elderly woman replace groceries, put them away inside her home

Here is some community policing at its finest.

Four community resource officers on patrol in Howard County Wednesday night gave a huge assist to an elderly woman waiting for her disabled vehicle to be towed.

They noticed her groceries that she had with her were going bad, so Sgt. James Zammillo and Officers Jason Kindel, Erik Gillenwater and John Simcox took her back to the grocery store to help replace them.

Afterwards, the officers drove the woman back to her home where they helped her put the groceries away.

A photo of the officers' act of kindness was posted on the Howard County Police Department's Facebook page and drew lots of positive responses to their post.
