Metrorail problems cause Tuesday morning delays along several lines

WASHINGTON - Commuters experienced delays along several Metrorail lines during the Tuesday morning commute.

Shortly after 5 a.m., the transit system reported that Blue Line trains were single tracking between Addison Road and Morgan Boulevard due to late clearing track work.

Metro also reported that Silver Line trains were not operating between Wiehle and Stadium-Armory - also due to late clearing track work.

Orange Line train riders then experienced delays in both directions due to congestion from delayed Blue and Silver Line trains.

Most of the issues were resolved by 6:30 a.m.
