Md. teen charged with raping 9-year-old at state fair

TIMONIUM, Md. - A 17-year-old male has been charged with raping a 9-year-old girl at the Maryland State Fair.

Police say the suspect has been charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sexual offense, perverted practice, fourth-degree sexual assault and second-degree assault.

Police say the teen and the girl were together with their families at a trailer at the state fairgrounds in Timonium on Thursday. Police say the girl's father called authorities after the two were spotted at the Swine Barn by a local farmer.

The girl told authorities that the teen touched her inappropriately before taking her to a secluded area, where he forced her to perform sex acts.

The suspect is being held on $500,000 bond.
