Man stabs roommate to death in Falls Church, police say

FALLS CHURCH, Va. - A man has been taken into custody after police say he stabbed his roommate to death overnight in Falls Church.

Police say they were called to an apartment building on Charing Cross Road just before 1 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived they found 36-year-old Jose Adalberto Vasquez Hernandez outside.

Officers say 27-year-old Oscar Daniel Diaz Fuentes was found inside an apartment unit suffering from stab wounds. Fuentes was hospitalized but later died from his injuries.

Authorities say Hernandez and Fuentes both lived in the apartment with several other adults and children. Police believe Hernandez is the boyfriend of Fuentes' mother.

Police believe the two had an argument earlier in the night and Hernandez later returned and stabbed Fuentes. Investigators say they do not believe the children witnessed the stabbing.

The investigation is still continuing at this time.
