Loudoun County police search for an attempted sexual assault suspect

STERLING, Va. - The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating a reported attempted sexual assault in Sterling, Va.

According to police the victim, an adult female, was walking home in the area of Alberta Terrace and Edwards Terrace from the area of Waterview Plaza around 1:30 a.m Sunday.

The victim reported to police that an unknown male started following her and attempting to talk to her. At one point, the suspect walked in front of the her and pushed her to the ground.

The victim told police, a struggle ensued and she was able to flee after punching the suspect

She was not physically injured during the assault and was able to return home and call the police.

The suspect was described as a dark skinned, possibly Hispanic male, and was wearing a dark shirt and pants.
