Local singer Mayah Dyson gets her big break on Kelly Rowland's new show Chasing Destiny

WASHINGTON - Local singer Mayah Dyson joined us to perform and to talk about the new show she appears on, Chasing Destiny.

CHASING DESTINY

A friend sent Mayah a photo of a flyer for a new reality show about Kelly Rowland's journey to find the next major girl group - and the rest was history.

Before she knew it, she was in New York with Rowland herself giving it her best at an audition. In no time she was in Los Angeles competing on the show, Chasing Destiny.

"Kelly was much fun. She was so genuine and it was really fun to work with her. I just learned so much," she said about the experience.

STARTING YOUNG

Mayah started singing at a young age in church in the Virginia area. Now, she's chasing her dream in Boston at the Berklee College of Music.

"I just love to sing. It's something that I do every day. I think about when I wake up - when I go to sleep. Music is me - it's inside me"

WHAT'S NEXT

Mayah says she can't reveal all of the details about the show - but promises that when she makes it big, she'll come back and share the news with FOX 5!
