US Park Police help rescue injured DC Fire and EMS K9

ARLINGTON, Va. (FOX 5 DC) -- U.S. Park Police made a dramatic rescue Tuesday to help save a badly injured K9 on the George Washington Parkway.

The DC Fire and EMS K9, named Kylie, and her partner, DC Fire and EMS Sgt. Gene Ryan, were searching in a wooded area when Kylie suffered a serious injury.

Park Police landed their helicopter on the parkway and transported Kylie to an animal hospital.

She underwent surgery and is expected to recover.
