Howard University student slams campus security after armed robbery near dorm

A Howard University student is sharing her frightening experience after an alleged armed robbery on campus left her and others shaken and fearful for their safety. According to police, the incident occurred last Thursday night around 10:30 p.m. outside the College Hall North dormitory on the 2200 block of 4th Street NW. 

The student and three of her Howard classmates were talking near the dorm when nine masked suspects suddenly approached them, one armed with an AR-15 rifle.

Caught on camera: DC mom mugged by masked teens on bikes

A woman in Crestwood, D.C., was mugged by three teens on bikes, who knocked her down and stole her backpack. 

The incident is part of a string of recent muggings in Northwest D.C., with residents believing the same group of teens is responsible. Victims and neighbors are frustrated by the lack of safety and have called for increased police patrols in the area.

Three teens arrested in 14-year-old's shooting death, victim identified

The Metropolitan Police Department have arrested two 16-year-olds and a 14-year-old after a robbery shooting left one 14-year-old dead. Patrol officers responded to the scene of the shooting in the 4000 block of South Capitol Street, SW, just before 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 26 after they heard gunshots in the area. 

When they arrived at the scene, they found a 14-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. 

3 teens arrested in connection to deadly 2024 triple shooting, Alexandria Police say

Alexandria police announced on Monday that three people have been arrested in connection to a deadly triple shooting that took place in September 2024.

Police Chief Tarrick McGuire said the three individuals were all juveniles, ranging in age from 16 to 17 years old at the time of the shooting that claimed the life of one man, and left another man and a teen injured. 

Neighbors shocked after man, woman found dead in Spotsylvania County home

A man and a woman were found dead in a Spotsylvania County home Saturday morning.

The bodies were found after a friend of the man hasn't heard from him and went to the home to check on him. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case as a double homicide.
